Concert 'Faith' (25 April 2019)

The concert is a meetup of some of Bulgaria's best jazz musicians - Teodoii Spasov (kaval); Nikolai Karageorgiev (gitar); Miroslav Turiiski (keyboards); Alexander Lekov (bass); Nacho Gospodinov (percussions) - and a folk music orchestra: Peyo Peev (gadulka); Ivan Georgiev (bagpipe); Hristian Tsvetkov (guitar); Genadii Rashkov (tapan). The lineup will be presenting an original composition built on modern and traditional sounds.

'Each of these musicians is a leading artist in their fields at the moment, each one has matured in their playing and has their own experience. And it will be absolute pleasure for the audience to see them performing together. This will be a thrilling meetup of friends, a communication in which each player will express their musical points of view. We will play also two new pieces: Graovsko Horo and Novo Horo, both written during the U.S. tour with the Folk quintet at the start of last year.

The programme is an incredible mix of folklore and jazz, bright individualities and exquisite ensemble work; it is an expression of a creative fusion in which wondrous compositions and performances offer true aesthetic pleasure and satisfaction. Even in the resolutely folkloric pieces, unexpected pranks and music moves surprise and dazzle with the rich imagination and incredible "crossing over" from one genre to another. And pull in everyone in this game - both the musicians and us listeners.'
