A dance film created following the choreography of the dance performance with the same name and produced as well by ATOM Theatre. Based on stories of survivors from the concentration camps in Bulgaria during the 20th century. It addresses the theme of alienation, loneliness, and cruelty, focusing on the man and his essence. The bodies and theirs, as if broken integrity, are driven by memories, dreams, and stories - ripped away from people who have been excommunicated from society in time. Today, they have survived and tell stories of fear, hatred, anger, but also of the desire to survive - defiantly. It examines the curves of the soul, the darkness, the silhouette, penetrates deeply and causes the spirit to come out of the body.

COLD is a second dance film project done by ATOM theater in collaboration with Maus da Fita and produced within the ADATA programme. While on residency in Plovdiv during 2018 they did the ‘Complex of Shadow’ shot with local dancers at the monument Bratskata Mogila (Hillock of Fraternity).
In 2020 the film won 1.º festival 1.º award for best sound and music - Experimental Dance Music Festival Toronto. Here is what the audience shared after seeing the film:
ATOM THEATER is a company based in Sofia /Bulgaria/, working in the field of contemporary dance. АТОМ creates space for collaborations, dance and site-specific projects, cultural events, trainings and educational initiatives. Artists from different parts of the world and all over Bulgarian are working in the group.
ATOM was founded in 2011 and its main goal is to explore the social, cultural and educational environment, to study the processes in society and the relations between people through the unlimited possibilities of movement and dance. ATOM’s projects are closely related to concrete spaces, architecture, design and history.
Stefaniya Georgieva is a Bulgarian choreographer and performer; an artistic director of ATOM theatre company and ATOM Choreographic Series platform. Stefaniya graduated with a BA in Puppetry at National Academy of Theatre and Film Arts, Sofia, Bulgaria. Currently, she is a house choreographer at the State Theatre in Shumen, Bulgaria. There she has created a dance production KUKERI and works as a movement director in a variety of theatrical productions. Her professional choreographic debut was in 2013. Since then, she has created various works presented in Bulgaria, across Europe and South Korea.CRAVE – the last work she created was done in collaboration with Balkan Dance Project. The concept of the collective body and the emotional, deep, twisted and slow body is the base of her explorations. Stefaniya gave ‘Collective body’ dance workshops in Bulgaria, the UK, Germany, and Greece.
From the end of July 2019 to the beginning of November the riverside areas in Plovdiv will be an epicenter for the realization of artistic interventions in the urban environment. The projects were selected on the basis of the proposals received from the artists who participated in the ADATA AiR programme in 2018. Their proposals were developed as a result of artistic residences in Plovdiv supported by Plovdiv 2019 Foundation in the first stage of the programme.

The artist-in-residence programme ADATA AiR is focusing the urban landscape of the city of Plovdiv as part of the ECOC programme. ADATA AiR is a production of Plovdiv 2019 Foundation, realized in partnership with the Goethe-Institut Bulgaria and the Polish Institute in Sofia.
