Festivals Programme

The training in Plovdiv is led by the Plovdiv 2019 Foundation with the team of State Opera Plovdiv.

The practice follows the "5x5" training model created by Clearly Culture, Leoni Hodkevitch, and a teaching team of the University of Vienna, which Cultart adapted and developed in the 5 partner countries of the project.

5x5 means "5 days in 5 cities". The training program includes 10 modules, intensive workshop sessions with field professionals, and a workflow in a real creative environment of a cultural institution in the cities. The practice for the Festivals program in Plovdiv was together with the State Opera - Plovdiv with a focus on one of the most recognizable and sustainable festivals in Bulgaria, Opera Open, and the case study question is How to attract international audiences for the Opera Open Festival?  Learn more about the groups’ solutions in the Cultart Book digital version.

The symbolic 5 is also found in the number of participants for each training. Five groups of 25 participants (selected with 5 participants per group from each country) participate in one of the programs according to their interests, education, and experience. Here you can watch a few of their video testimonials.
