Two events within the educational platform FORUM 2019 of Plovdiv 2019 Foundation will be realized in May, the first in Sofia and then one in Plovdiv – both focused on arts and cultural management, partnerships building and implementation of artistic ideas from the bottom up.
On May 11, Thursday, 6:30 pm – in the New Conference Hall of Sofia University – there will be a Public talk with Peter Jenkinson (Cultural broker) and Shelagh Wright (Director of ThreeJohnsandShelagh and Mission Models Money, associate of Demos UK and Toynbee Studios), moderated by Victor Yankov (Plovdiv2019). The public talk will address topics such as culture-led urban regeneration; the role of the cultural entrepreneurs; and creative places and the shift towards the socially-engaged, civically-engaged and politically-engaged practices.
During the talk both international and Bulgarian examples will be presented, global tendencies and important issues will be brought to light and possible solutions and new theoretical approaches will be discussed. The event will be held in English with Bulgarian translation.
On May 15, Monday, 2–6 pm – in the Small Conference Hall of the House of Culture “Boris Hristov” in Plovdiv – there will be a Professional workshop with Peter Jenkinson, Shelagh Wright and Lubov Kostova (Director of British Council Bulgaria).This professional workshop will look at current problems in the field of arts and cultural management and possible ways of solving them.
The workshop will be held in English and is designed for a limited number of participants, which will be selected after completing the following registration form – by 1May HERE.
