The volunteer of “Plovdiv 2019” Yana Marekova will join the international Cinemadamare International Short Film Youth Film Festival, which will start on July 12 in Matera – European Capital of Culture 2019. Within two months Yana will be on internship in Matera welcoming guests during the events, part of the program of the festival. The exchange of volunteers between Plovdiv and Matera is carried out under the Erasmus + program and is part of the active cooperation agreement between the two European Capitals of Culture.
CinemadaMare is the biggest event in Italy for young cinema producers, which has been held annually for 15 years. This year’s edition runs from late June to September. More than 300 films from more than 65 countries worldwide take part in the festival. Volunteers will follow the traveling film festival this year in the cities of Maratea, New Syria and Guardia Pertica.
Yana Marekova was elected after an invitation to apply to the volunteer team of the Plovdiv 2019 Foundation, which included more than 20 candidates. The Bulgarian volunteer at the festival will work with four other colleagues from Spain, Cyprus and Latvia. Jana graduated in Applied Linguistics last year with English and Italian at Paisii Hilendarski University. It was part of student organizations such as AIESEC and ESN. In her spare time she gives lessons in Bulgarian to foreigners, he deals with translation.
