The pARTnership initiative, which started in the autumn of 2018, is aimed at running specialized trainings, workshops and direct participation of Roma children and school students in the programmes for children of four large Plovdiv institutions: Plovdiv's City Art Gallery, State Opera Plovdiv, Ivan Vazov National Library and the Plovdiv Museum of Ethnography. The trainings will be held twice a month from November 2018 to June 2019.

"pARTnership" is an educational process in a real creative environment that aims to stimulate the use of art and culture as a means of communication. The children will take part in 12 different events that will be held until June 2019. Groups of pupils from the first to fourth grades are formed who will visit the institutions and will participate in the cultural program. They will be accompanied by teachers and educational mediators working on the project. Children will be able to get acquainted with complex subjects and develop curiosity about art, as well as discover their talents in different spheres.

"pARTnership" provokes the understanding of the professions in the cultural sphere and encourages children to create. The four institutions involved develop special children's programs and create sustainable and inspiring relationships with the participants. Their long experience in working with children's audiences ensures that community activities are beneficial.

The initiative started on 28 November from the Old Town on a programme prepared by the City Art Gallery - Plovdiv. On December 3, there will be a meeting on the stage of the State Opera - Plovdiv where the children will meet the artists and will look behind the scenes of the multimedia show "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs", based on the classical tale of the Brothers Grimm.

In February the students will be engaged in the programs of the National Library ‘Ivan Vazov’ and the Regional Ethnographic Museum. A visit to the children's department of the library is planned, with creative reading, text creation and computer literacy introduction. A detail tour of the expositions will be held at the Ethnographic Museum, accompanied by a workshop devoted to the upcoming spring celebrations.

The visit to the Regional Ethnographic Museum - Plovdiv was on February 20th. The aim was to familiarize children with the museum's permanent expositions and to visit the "Song of the Tree" exhibition, which displays the folk musical instruments (bagpipe, rebec, tamboura, zurna, etc.). The tour is in the form of a game, including a final practical task to reinforce what has been learned.

On February 26 another group of both schools visited the Children's Department and the American Center of the National Library "Ivan Vazov" - Plovdiv. Students will be introduced to the world of literature as well as interactive learning for technical literacy with the help of the team and a special robot.

The Plovdiv 2019 Foundation is a partner of Plovdiv Municipality under the project "All Together - for Better Education and Health" under the Programme for Encouraging Social Inclusion of Roma and Other Vulnerable Groups of a Bulgarian-Swiss cooperation programme. This is a long-term project with activities for the period from 2016 to 2019 aimed at the educational and health integration of Roma and other vulnerable groups living in the territory of Stolipinovo in Plovdiv.
