Opening of the festival Opera Open 2017

The opening of the festival Opera Open with the concert-spectacle “Orpheus and Paganini” brought more than 2000 spectators into the mythical world of the legendary Thracian singer. For the first time, the facade of the Ancient Theater “came to life” with a unique 3D mapping by Polina Gerasimova, who recreated the ancient legends of Orpheus against the background of the music of G. Arnaudov, K. Gluck, K. Monteverdi, J. Offenbach and others.

Enigmatic sounds of J. Denyov’s crystalline body blended with the performances of the virtuous Mario Hossein and the Quartet of Arena Di Verona. Soloists Vera Girginova, Svetlana Ivanova and Nicole Brandolino together with the orchestra, choir and ballet of Opera Plovdiv have created an unforgettable fairy, uniting elements of different musical genres and ages. The conductor of the show was the flutist Fan Farandis, conductor of the choir – Dragomir Yosifov, concertmaster – Mico Dimitrov, and the choreography was done by Boryana Sechanova.
The Ancient Theater was filled to the limit. Among the official guests were representatives of the Ministry of Culture, the District Administration, the Plovdiv Municipality, the Plovdiv 2019 Foundation, the House for the Plovdiv Opera Foundation, the Unicredit Bulbank Managers, KCM 2000 AD, official representatives of the New Bulgarian University , Directors of cultural institutes in Plovdiv and representatives of national and regional media.
