Plovdiv was a guest at the Materadio Festival in Matera European Capital of Culture 2019

Plovdiv Jazz Singer and organizer of the festival “Plovdiv Jazz Fest” Miroslava Katsarova was chosen by our Italian partners to represent our town in Matera.

The extremely popular Matreradio festival is a part of the Matera 2019 program and is organized in partnership between Radio RAI 3 and “Matera 2019” and this year it was held from September 21st until September 24th under the motto “Radici e percorsi” (Roots and paths). This year’s edition included also various locations and areas in the city – meeting places, active participation in cultural events and social contacts.

This is the first Bulgarian participation in the festival, which takes place in the Italian city for the seventh time. On the stage in the main square in Matera, along with Miroslava were jazzmen Miro Turiiski, Veselin Vesselinov-Eco and Hristo Yotsov, who presented the new album “My Cinema”.

The participation of Plovdiv Jazz Fest representatives was carried through in partnership between “Plovdiv 2019” and “Matera 2019”. The anchorman from Radio RAI 3, which is the main organizer of the event, said that the cooperation between the two cities – future European capitals of culture – is remarkable.

The team of Plovdiv Jazz Fest, whose editions are already part of the official program of Plovdiv European Capital of Culture, managed to meet also with the organizers of the Jazz Festival in Matera, with whom they exchanged experience and set a start for partnership opportunities in artists exchange.
