The Plovdiv 2019 Foundation opens a crisis fund to support independent Plovdiv artists

Independent Plovdiv artists can apply for a one-time grant of BGN 1,000 to cover their basic expenses and needs

In connection with the state of emergency and the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Plovdiv 2019 Foundation in cooperation with the Plovdiv Municipality's Culture Department announces a Crisis Fund to support independent Plovdivian artists. Independent Plovdiv artists from all fields will be able to apply for a one-time grant of BGN 1,000 to cover their basic expenses and needs in the months of emergency.

Plovdiv 2019 Foundation and Culture Department of Plovdiv Municipality begin reworking the rules of the Crisis Fund for Independent Artists in Plovdiv announced earlier for receiving a grant of BGN 1,000. The application will start after Easter, after the processed information would be uploaded on the website of Plovdiv 2019 for discussion, additions and proposals within a few days, after which it will be resubmitted to the Board of directors for a vote. details HERE.

The committee that will evaluate the applications submitted has already been proposed for a vote before the Governing Board. It consists of 7 people, including: one lawyer, one accountant and one representative from the Culture Department. The chairman will be Emilia Arabadzhieva - long-time director of the NGEEI, artist and public figure; Valeri Körlenski from the Plovdiv Drama Theater, actor and administrator with experience, Stoyan Terziev - poet, writer, longtime journalist at Radio Plovdiv with Culture department and Nelly Popova-Koeva - director of Dobrin Petkov National Library of Music.
