The Crisis Fund to support independent Plovdivian artists in the context of the current situation and measures against the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) Virus is now open

After a public discussion, the rules of the Fund were revised by experts from the Plovdiv 2019 Foundation, the Plovdiv Municipality's Culture, Аrchaeology and Cultural Heritage Directorate and approved by a vote from the Foundation's Board of Directors.

The application information is available on the Plovdiv 2019 website (only in Bulgarian), in the Open Calls section. Applicants can apply through email: or apply personally with paper submission at the Foundation's address at 2 Raiko Daskalov Str., Floor 2, every official working day from 09.30 till 17.00 h

The total amount of the fund is 100 thousand BGN. The artists can apply for a one-time grant of 1000 BGN to cover their basic expenses and needs. The deadline for application is the end of November 2020 or earlier, if the planned budget of the fund is finalised.

A committee will evaluate the applications. It includes seven people, among them a lawyer, an accountant, a representative of the municipality’s culture department, representatives of the Plovdivian artists and public figures from Plovdiv. The committee will be headed by Emilia Arabadzhieva, long-time director of the National Highschool of stage and film design, artist and public figure.
