It’s time to dance, it’s time for Spotlight: USA
March 26 through March 28 Plovdiv will welcome not only 9 leading American dance companies, but will also become the hotspot of contemporary performance arts in Europe. We present SPOTLIGHT: USA A Platform of American Dance or in other words a vibrant program of salsa, hip-hop, modern ballet and experimental dance, along with dance workshops for professionals and students interested in this compelling art.
Limerick 2018 School of Spectacle
Limerick School of Spectacle is a free eight-day intensive outdoor arts training school for twenty-five local and international creative practitioners based in Bulgaria, Ireland, Cyprus, Greece, and Lithuania. The school will deliver training designed to build skills that creatives need for making outdoor events and civic celebrations and will be held between 11th March 2018 and 18th March 2018 in Limerick. The Training venue is the Irish Aerial Creation Centre in Limerick.

The variety is tasty with "Multi Kulti Kitchen"
“Multi Kulti Kitchen” project focuses on integrating foreign communities, raising the awareness of the local community about the contribution of migrants to the region. The project provokes us to try and prepare interesting and tasty dishes, enabling migrants and different ethnic groups to present the best of their cuisine and culture. The events are happening equally in Plovdiv and Pazardzhik in 2018 and in 2019.
"Plovdiv 2019" welcomed 180 journalists from 32 countries
Journalists from all over the world chose Plovdiv - European Capital of Culture for the opening of their annual meeting. The official opening took place on February 25 (Sunday) at 19:00 with a procession of participants from the Central Square to the Roman Stadium, where the official start of the event was welcomed by representatives of the Plovdiv Municipality leadership and the President of the International Ski Club of Journalists SCIJ.
Contest for a creative youth idea
We are looking for 15 young people who have the most innovative ideas, and who are going to develop and improve their skills with the help of experts from the National Alliance for Volunteer Action.
"Take Away Plovdiv" is Starting
The official launch of the "Take Away Plovdiv" project – a new design for city souvenirs – will happen on February 22, at 5 pm, at the Generator – Center for Design and Innovation in Sofia.
Bulgarian directors create seven short films inspired by Plovdiv
The CINEPLOVDIV initiative, part of the program of Plovdiv – European Capital of Culture 2019, was introduced today, 20.02, at a press-conference in Fargo club in the presence of directors Hristo Simeonov, Lyubomir Mladenov, Petar Valchanov and Nikolay Todorov, who are part of the seven directors’ teams that are going to shoot films inspired by Plovdiv.

А contest for German translation has started
The Municipal Foundation "Plovdiv 2019", "Ivan Vazov" National Library, Pen and Quill Association and Goethe-Institut Bulgaria organize a competition for the translation of German fiction in Bulgarian. It is aimed at young people from Plovdiv at the age range from 15 to 35 years.
