RAPTURE AND RAGE. Studies on the authoritarian character

The German collective LIGNA, which specialises in media arts and performances, and the Bulgarian artists Stephan A. Shtereff and Emilian Gatsov use an unusual theatrical performance to study fundamentalism and radical communities. In ‘Rapture and Rage’ they address the logic of historical events, theories and analyses, and recreate contemporary processes by turning the audience into protagonist.

The show features LIGNA (Ole Frahm, Michael Hüners, Torsten Michaelsen - production, text, director), Stephan A. Shtereff (concept, director, production) and Emilian Gatsov (music). Translation: Gergana Dimitrova.

When: 30 November 2019
Where: Drama Theatre Plovdiv
Two performances. Start at 5 pm and 8 pm.
Duration: 84 min.
Paid entrance. Tickets with fare 15 BGN on the spot or online from dtp.bg.

‘Rapture and Rage’ opened the 2017 theatrical season in Frankfurt, at the prestigious Mousonturm Künstlerhaus. The art collective LIGNA is the holder of the prestigious George Tabori theatre award. Based on various techniques, the LIGNA productions analyse the mechanisms and dynamics that underlie group and mass social movements.

The project is a production of INFORMBUREAU-Sofia Association.
