River of Biodiversity
The Regional Museum of Natural History in Plovdiv presents the travelling exhibition "River of Biodiversity" – an exhibition with an emphasis on the biological diversity of Maritsa River.
People's lives have been connected with the river and its inhabitants since ancient times. The river is an extremely rich yet very delicate and vulnerable ecosystem. It depends on us to protect and preserve it as a source of inspiration and a vital basis of life and the future of the city.
This exhibition reveals the river as a natural treasure, gives details about the species living in and around it and how they form a unique ecosystem, and how and why to have to protect them. Realistic models of animals, a short video and educational texts present the history, geography and ecology system of the river.
The Regional Museum of Natural History Plovdiv will host the exhibition from 8th till 15th August 2020. The city of Burgas will be the next host.
