5x5 means "5 days in 5 cities". The training program includes 10 modules, intensive workshop sessions with field professionals, and a workflow in a real creative environment of a cultural institution in the cities. The management programs are profiled in Plovdiv, Vienna, Ioannina, Lecce, and Skopje for five creative industries as follows: Plovdiv - festivals, Vienna - visual arts, Ioannina - performing arts, Lecce - design and architecture, and Skopje - applied arts.
The Festivals program in Plovdiv was focused on one of the most recognizable and sustainable Bulgarian festivals Opera Open. The Visual Arts gave the participants the chance to work with the team of Kunsthalle Vienna, while in Ioannina – the municipal theater DI.P.E.TH.I. was the management case study in the Performing Arts program. The Italian design studio Valari mentored the Design and Architecture training in Lecce and the marketing team of the National Art Gallery led the group in Skopje.
The symbolic 5 is also found in the number of participants for each training. Five groups of 25 participants (selected with 5 participants per group from each country) participate in one of the programs according to their interests, education, and experience. Thus, the total number of Cultart Alumni is – 125 new cultural managers who work with local and global challenges on the map of Europe.
