Being Alyosha (12 October – 10 November)

‘Being Alyosha’ seeks a different perspective on the Soviet Army Monument in Plovdiv by stripping it of its myth. The virtual reality-generated ‘body swap’ illusion will transform our perception of this monument. The project is based on experiments done at the Stockholm-based Karolinska Institutet Medical University. Participants are made to believe that they have been transferred into the body of a dummy and that they react to touches. In Plovdiv, the illusion will be created by virtual reality.

When: The event will be held if bad weather does not prevent it weekends from 12 October to 10 November at 4 pm

Where: at the top of the Bunardzhika Hill in Plovdiv at the Soviet Army Monument
