Sardinia. A Cultural Paradise - arte nuragica / contemporanea

From the 27th of December 2019 the City Gallery of Fine Arts in Plovdiv will be hosting the exhibition “arte nuragica / contemporanea”. This project aims at sharing the historical and contemporary Sardinian artistic scene through 14 art pieces, selected after a contest between artists coming from all over the Italian island.

The displayed artworks are inspired by the 3000-year-old statues of Mont’e Prama, symbols of the Nuragic culture. Being among the most ancient anthropomorphic sculptures of the Mediterranean area, they represent a unique part of our cultural heritage, as witnesses of an era which has yet to be fully understood.

The visitors will have the opportunity to discover the fascinating history and traditions of Sardinia, and to enjoy the innovative contributions given by the exposed original art pieces – paintings, sculptures, digital art works and installations.

WHEN: from the 27th of December 2019 to the 18th of January 2020
