PERMA-CULTURE - spaces and art
The Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts "Prof. Asen Diamandiev" - Plovdiv on three different days in the autumn of 2024, will be outdoors, in unusual, but also in loved and familiar natural and landscaped outdoor spaces in the Acient Plovdiv and central park areas, to present the attitude of young artists at the Academy to our surroundings.
The three faculties of the Academy will have one day each to meet a spontaneous and special audience with music, dance and visual arts. The multi-genre nature of learning at the Academy will be represented in the events, and the selection of themes and works presented will focus on nature, its power to regenerate itself and us, and the need to consciously and responsibly protect this right of hers and our shared heritage.
Programme:
- 2nd of October at 6:00 p.m. - in the City Garden near by Hristo G.Danov street will take place an exhibition of posters inspired by two iconic productions of the State Puppet Theatre Plovdiv - the one is an impressive children's musical, and the other - an emotional show for adults.
- 3rd of October at 6:00 p.m. - folklore concert in the green park surroundings of the Regional History Museum - Plovdiv, House-Museum "Hristo G. Danov"
- 4th of October at 5:00 p.m. - pop and jazz concert + fashion show on the staircase and piazza space in front of the City Art Gallery, Saborna Street
- 11th of October at 5:00 p.m. - choral folklore performance in Hisar Kapia Square
The connection between culture, arts and the anthropocene, climate change, the social and humanitarian crisis provoked by them and how all public issues and discourses reflect in and through art and what our choices, contributions, resistance and support can be so that the present is the best basis for a healthier and more successful future - these themes and questions are at the heart of PERMA-CULTURE - Spaces and Art.
Permaculture is the applied science of designing human habitats to resemble natural ones as much as possible; it is an attitude, a care, an invitation to coexistence, and it is flourishing and fertility, which are the essential characteristics of art.
