Adata AiR Resident Programme - Meeting #15

ADATA AiR is an artist-in-residence programme in the city of Plovdiv. The residency aims to give a space for a creative exchange that fosters intercultural dialogue and interaction. The platform is open to artists, architects, designers, etc., from Europe to join the special pre-capital-of-culture stage. During their stay, the residents will have the opportunity to develop new projects and interact with local communities and the complex cultural realities of the city.

The artists are visiting Plovdiv in 2018 to work on their own artistic projects related to topics concerning nature and architectural cultural heritage in Plovdiv.


Meeting #15

Plovdiv Composing (sound improvisation performance by Fanis Gioles)

Start: 7 pm (15/11/2018)
Venue: SKLAD (16 Ekzarh Yosif str, Plovdiv)

This performance is based on compositions, which were made by ordinary people of Plovdiv, combined with city sounds.
Similar projects have been made in Stockholm, Tallinn and Hamburg under the name ‘The City Composing’. ‘The City Composing’ started by the artist Hara Alonso in 2016, in collaboration with other contemporary music artist, including Fanis Gioles. Link of previous sound improvisation performance: www.youtube.com.

Fanis Gioles is a Greek percussionist, performer and sound artist currently living in Germany. He is the founder and artistic director of the ensemble Volans and performs solo or in chamber music sessions all over the world. More info: fanisgioles.com.
