Anime & Gaming Festival was held for the first time in Plovdiv on June 22 2019, in Hall 10 of the Plovdiv International Fair, as part of the official programme of Plovdiv - European Capital of Culture 2019 in partnership with EU JAPAN FEST. The event was attended by over 2500 people - from Plovdiv and guests from all over Bulgaria.

In 2021 the event will be changed in accordance with the situation in Bulgaria and the world. The most significant modification will be the event location - in 2021 it will be outdoors, on the square in front of the Central Post Office in Plovdiv. The change of location will not prevent the holding of most of the attractions related to the traditional and modern Japanese culture!

  • Lectures, demonstrations and screenings related to Japan
  • Cosplay competition with prizes
  • Workshops in various arts
  • Exhibition of works by Bulgarian artists inspired by Japan and its arts
  • E-sports and board games area
  • Partners - stands with goods related to Japan, drawing demonstrations of Japanese comics, thematic and information corners
  • Comic book reading
  • Foreign guests

The event is planned for 24 and 25th July 2021, on the central square of Plovdiv. Stay tuned.
