The "Re-create Plovdiv“ project views entrepreneurship as catalyst of positive change in the community. This is a platform for encouraging entrepreneurial thinking through practical training, discussions and seminars.
The project connects people from various spheres and sectors (citizens, institutions and activists, among others) to lay the foundation of a community oriented towards sustainable solutions for a permanent change of the urban environment and active participation therein.
Social and individual dimensions
"Re-create Plovdiv" searches for both the social aspects of entrepreneurial thinking and the individual impact on the participants. It does so through:
- Enhancing the awareness of the benefits of social entrepreneurship for the development of Plovdiv.
- Active citizen participation in the solution of local problems and the use of the city's potential.
- Encouraging the desire for developing one's own projects among young unemployed.
- Prodding participants to acquire greater confidence and push in heir endeavours and to become aware of the significance of their civic role.
In the autumn of 2018 and in 2019 the project’s programme features practical workshops, presentations and seminars by Bulgarian and foreign lecturers and experts. The international participation connects the participants with ideas and initiatives from like-minded partners from an array of European countries, and strengthens the sense of belonging to a wider community – that of entrepreneurs in Europe.
The training features current approaches such as art of hosting, design thinking, service design, and lean management – a long-term approach to working that seeks to attain small, gradual changes in the processes for improvement of efficacy and quality of services.
