Together in the Circle of Paneurhythmy
The "Together in the Circle of Paneurhythmy – A Harmony of Body, Mind and Spirit" project is searching for the point of intersection between art and physical activity in paneurhythmics, the Bulgarian system which combines movement, music, singing and meditation. "Paneurhythmy", a group practice performed out of doors, is a means for the attainment of balance between the body, the mind and the spirit, and for stimulating harmonised communication with both people and nature.
For its activities in 2018 and 2019, the project will feature educational, motional and art initiatives (trainings and music workshops) for children, teenagers and adults.
An Ancient Theatre Show (Plovdiv, 25 May 2019). Conductor Yordan Kamdzhalov
The project’s capstone will be an interactive spectacle led by the charismatic conductor Yordan Kamdzhalov. On 25 May 2019 the show will merge chamber music, choral music and Bulgaria Sings – the three formats of "Music Laboratory for the Man", created by Mr Kamdzhalov. The show will also feature a concert component, set to the music and text of paneurhythmics’ second strand, based on Bulgarian rhythms and motifs.
IN THE CIRCLE OF THE SONG with Yordan Kamdzhalov:
Yordan Kamdzhalov studied conducting in Sofia and Berlin, and attended master classes led by world-class conductors. At the age of 30 he was elected general music director of the Theatre and Orchestra of the City of Heidelberg (Theater u. Orchester Heidelberg), Germany, the first foreigner to hold the post. The music seasons he led are considered the most lucrative in the group's history.
Mr Kamdzhalov later started a foundation which bears his name and aims at supporting young Bulgarian artists. The conductor is known for his search for unity between music, philosophy and science. He also is the artistic director and chief conductor of the international conceptual cultural project Genesis Orchestra and of the Music Laboratory for Man project.
** Mr Kamdzhalov founded Music Laboratory for Man in 2014. Led by the chief conductor Maya Vasileva, this conceptual undertaking is based on the Bulgarian choral tradition, and employs sounds and words as the main instruments in the research process that's at the heart of the project. The driving impulse behind the Laboratory is a longing that the inner space which every human being carries within himself should be shared and reflected in external acoustic space.
