Imaginary City Finds is an author's project by Petko Tanchev, which takes a unique look at the cultural and historical heritage of the city of Plovdiv.

The project aims to promote the historical past of the city and serve to raise awareness of important cultural values from the title of European Capital of Culture. The creative initiative presents artifacts from the Prehistoric Period (7,000 BC) to Antiquity (AD 400) interpreted in a virtual 3D environment. The content explores the form of archaeological exhibits through various visualization tools. Model generation processes include working with custom dynamic structures and programming geometric modifications. The historical monuments of the millennial city will be presented as a series of futuristic reproductions created in the aesthetics of the modern Age of Data.

The project will take place as a public video mapping projection on the Fortress wall of the Ancient Stadium of Philippopolis on November 25th (Saturday) from 17:00 to 19:00.

There will also be an official presentation at the Bishop’s Basilica of Philippopolis on November 26th (Sunday) from 17:00 to 18:00, where the author will share details of his conceptual and technological solutions. The visualization will remain part of the exposition in the Basilica for the period from November 27th to December 4th.

Imaginary City Finds is realized in partnership with Municipal Institute Ancient Plovdiv. The project aims to promote the historical past of the city and serve to raise awareness of important cultural values from the title of European Capital of Culture.
