‘FLOATING PICTURES IN THE WATER – Provoke the Imagination’ is a crosspoint of contemporality and tradition. The project recreates, as an innovative dance show, emblematic works by the Bulgarian artist Vladimir ‘Maistora’ Dimitrov. They all come alive in an art installation on the water surface.

The show will be presented in Kyustendil during the Cherry Fest in 2019 on 28 June 2019 and in Plovdiv it will happen a week earlier - 16 June 2019.

On the backdrop of authentic Bulgarian music, pictures by Maistora will be beamed on a huge water screen by means of contemporary technology (lasers and LED video walls). On the shore, dance theatre will be reenacting elements of the traditional Bulgarian household life and culture (presenting, for example, rituals such as kneading of the bread of the Virgin).

The project is a partnership of Kyustendil Municipality with "Vladimir Dimitrov - The Master" Gallery, Kyustendil Municipal Theater, Kyustendil Regional History Museum, Kyustendil Institute of Agriculture, local cultural hubs - chitalishta, non-governmental organizations, vocational high schools. The director of the project is Lozen Yordanov.

The project is a production of the Kyustendil Municipality
