We are the children of the river
„„Rediscover nature in the city" is the motto of the first edition of the one-day arts festival "We are the children of the river", which will take place by the riverside of the Maritsa River near the bridge of the Water Palace in the city of Plovdiv. The event aims to bring together different forms of art and culture, while promoting environmental awareness in the community through discussions led by local experts who are experienced in various aspects of urban planning, environment and sustainability. Involving citizens, through the placemaking methodology, in urban design processes will promote sustainable lifestyles and the relationship between community and urban nature.
The event includes a wide variety of activities and entertainment: art workshops, musical performances suitable for all ages, discussions on urban planning and the environment with the theme "My Green City"- the creation of spaces with the participation of citizens. The festival will not only entertain children and adults, but also inspire them to explore their interests and talents in a beautiful and environmentally friendly environment, while teaching them the importance of protecting the urban ecosystem for future generations, encouraging sustainable environmental practices, and cultivating a sense of community and belonging in the urban ecosystem.
