When was the last time you played a game? Do you remember this pleasant excitement at the beginning, shivers down your spine when you solved the most difficult riddle and unlimited happiness when you finally won? We're going to play games in amazing Bulgarian Plovdiv (8-10 November) and fascinating Italian Matera (31 October – 2 November). Curational concept: Departament Gier

We invite you to the Fusion 2019 - Urban Games Festival, the first festival co-produced by two European Capitals of Culture, which takes place during the Plotera Weeks, celebrating Plovdiv and Matera “Together for an Open Future”.
For who?
For everyone who wants to feel the thrill and look at the city from a different perspective. We’re giving you 10 different games that will allow you to explore the city, search for clues, solve mysteries, cooperate and compete, and be the best.
Where and when?
We turn the whole Plovdiv into a playground. The starting place for each game will be given later. The Festival center is SKLAD in the Tobacco City. The FUSION - Urban Games festival lasts 3 days from 8th November till 10th November, during which we will play 10 different games coming from Italy, Poland, Germany, UK, Russia and Bulgaria.
Why?
To enjoy yourself, feel like a child for a moment. To celebrate Matera and Plovdiv as two Capitals of Culture for the year 2019 and look at those cities form a different perspective.

Dreamlike (Departament Gier, Poland)
Every picture tells a story – but what story will your pictures tell? Dreamlike is a city game of creative guesswork, where your imagination unlocks the tale of the city.
In this game, you will use your imagination and stream of consciousness to create visual aids. You will find places, people and events that are connecting Plovdiv and Matera and create the story of city life.
See how even the smallest things tell universal values, and how we can connect with others by a common language of pictures.

What you will need:
A phone with a camera and internet connection
A Messenger/Facebook account
For the game, you will receive a special camera-equipment for which we will enlist your name, telephone and ID card Numbers with which to guarantee safe usage and return.

Red Lady's Case
Mysterious porcelain dolls appear in the city. They hide from citizens, watching them from tight slits and cracks of the old buildings. At the same time, strange videos appear in social networks with game hashtag #RedLadysCase.
Is it someone's dreams? Or maybe it's a hint.
Guess a riddle and you'll find a doll. Then you can take a photo of the doll and post it on the social network with game hashtags #RedLadysCase and #mejdu_ekolo to let the game continue.

Clean Game
Take part in the international ecological strategic quests that bring people together and get waste sorted. This game was held in more than 300 cities and now Plovdiv is next.
Bring your friends and family and join the game. Make your community cleaner and have a lot of fun doing that. See how games can empower people to see the problems of environmental pollution.

Experience interactive virtual-reality installation. You'll have the possibility to play in virtual reality and interact with the imagined world, creating a deeply immersive experience. The special VR set will replicate your movements and allow you to interact with objects and fully immerse yourself in digital reality. The brand new word is at your fingertips.

Join the team and compete with others to be the first who completes the space mission.
5 stunning locations will welcome you. Bizarre characters, temporary and permanent citizens will carry you to the final destination along a cultural trip. In each place, you will encounter a challenge in new unexpected ways. You will have to use your fast thinking, memory, precision and work with your teammates.

Which way will you choose – the way of magic or the way of science? We are all in between, and the world keeps on drifting away from balance – and towards destruction. Find out what is happening!
Two fractions from the „besides” dimension have different views about bringing the world back to balance. Depending on the side you choose you will gain both friends and enemies. When travelling, be cautious not to miss the parts of the solution. Beware of spies, as they can ruin your quest. It can get very sticky, damp and dark.

Secrets of Plo-Tera
Join the hunt for the secrets of Plovdiv - follow the digital clues, solve puzzles, go to new locations and find more about both the Plovdiv and the other European Capital - Matera, along the way. But be careful – everything you receive and find can be a hint for your next location or a clue! Let the hunt for secrets begins!

Take part in a trilogy of short games that will be played in the heart of the city. Feel like a spy, observe other players and avoid giving too much away to other. Each game is about blending in and rebelling. All your actions will be set to a dynamic soundtrack that will help to build the tension.

Legendary Hunt (GeoGames, Poland)
The goal of the game is to find as many legendary characters in 90 minutes as possible and persuade them to join our team. The game will be in the form of a mobile app similar to Pokemon GO. It will use geolocation and augmented reality.

Vagaplay
Gather the team, interact with places, people and businesses to solve the mystery.
Explore the city, look for specific landmarks, interview the locals and do real detective work to find the truth. You will have to document your actions by taking photos and videos to make sure you didn't miss any clues. Complete all 4 missions and become a great detective.

Become part of the exciting world of board games, where the pleasure of communicating with otherс is the ultimate goal! Already known around the world, they gravitate into the urban space and bring families and friends together or serve as wonderful occasion for meeting strangers.
Some games blur the line between the surrounding environment and the world on the board, others prompt and teach us how to do better, and others bring pure fun.
What we have prepared for you includes a little bit of everything - games for getting-to-know, outwitting, strategy and thinking, crazy dice throwing, card-picking, and most of all, an opportunity to meet others, fuse interests and creating common future.
