Without Blood

The literary masterpiece of the Italian writer Alessandro Barico begins with a bloody vendetta and ends with the bloodless retribution of love and forgiveness.

In a European country, a civil war continues long after its end, to spin in its bloody labyrinth the destinies of three men, a father with two children, an incalculable number of victims, and a Minotaur of unquenchable hatred, in need of blood and more blood. After years of simmering peace, a beautiful elderly lady stands in front of a lottery ticket seller and invites him for coffee. The victim and the rescuer embark on their fractured journey to a past torn between death and reckoning.

The performance is a co-production between the Plovdiv Drama Theatre and the Veles Drama Theatre, North Macedonia. Without Blood is a project by Plovdiv Drama Theatre and part of the Plovdiv - European Capital of Culture programme.
