EU Japan Fest is a nongovernmental organisation that supports the cooperation between Japanese and European artists and the public by subsidising research and project-based initiatives.

Plovdiv 2019 Foundation

The Plovdiv 2019 Foundation is the organization that prepared the application of Plovdiv for the title European Capital of Culture 2019, handled the implementation of the project and is currently working actively on the realization of the Legacy programme. In accordance with its statute, the entity is a non-governmental organization that operates for the benefit of the public. It was established in 2011 by a decision of the City Council of Plovdiv.

Plovdiv 2019 works with partner organizations, artists and institutions from within the country and abroad for the implementation of the basic concepts and projects in the bid book of Plovdiv. Among the core and most important aims in its work are the initiation, realization and organization of the activities in the programme, as well as their monitoring, the development of new audiences, experience and skills, ensuring the widest possible social inclusion, attracting high-quality international content and popularizing Bulgarian culture abroad.

The European Capital of Culture is a unique project for our country, that for the first time is developing the specific knowledge and expertise of the team of the Foundation and its partners, and which is therefore becoming a natural part of the legacy of the initiative (find here our LEGACY projects.)
