The Managing Council of the Plovdiv 2019 Municipal Foundation, by virtue of a decision set down in
Protocol 147/06.08.2018, has endorsed a protocol to the foundation's 'Small Projects: Events and
Community Participation' open call. The protocol serves the purposes of the artistic programme of the European Capital of Culture 2019 initiative. Fifty-seven project proposals were approved to receive funding.
Under the terms of the open call, the selected applicants must accept or refuse the decision of the
judging panel. Submitting notices, four applicants withdrew their project proposals. The withdrawals prompted the open call committee to convene for an extraordinary session and
consider the standby project proposals. The session took place on 17 September 2018.
At the session, a panel of experts gave approval to three reserve project proposals and allocated 24,500 leva (in words: twenty-four thousand five hundred levs).
The authors of the approved proposals have two weeks' time to confirm their participation and submit updates of their budgets and schedules.
